Study on the Professional Development of College English Teachers in the Big Data Era

Abstract


The popularity of Internet and mobile terminals marks a new era of big data. College English teachers, in promoting their professional development in the big data era, are meeting some challenges as follows: how to integrate the big data with knowledge, how to design teaching modes, how to evaluate teaching effect, how to transform the functions and roles of teachers, and how to improve the ability of information teaching. In the era of big data, how to excavate and analyze these data is of great importance to improve teaching practice of college English teachers and promote their professional development. Based on the professional characteristics and psychological characteristics, this paper attempts to change beliefs and attitudes of college English teachers as well as their teaching practice, and puts forward the feasible measures to promote the professional development of college English teachers and to help them improve the quality of English teaching in the big data era.
