Kinetical Study for Radical Copolymerization of N-(4-bromo-3,5-difluorophenyl) Maleimide with Styrene Including Thermal Stability of the Obtained Copolymer
Abstract
The reactivity ratios of the N-[(4-bromo-3, 5-difluorine) phenyl]maleimide (BDPM) and styrene(St) were determined by Finemann-Ross method and Kelen-Tudos method. The effect of the monomer concentration, initiator concentration and temperature on the rate of polymerization (Rp) was studied, and the activation energy of the polymerization was calculated. Through changing the monomer proportion, the copolymers with different composition were obtained. The molecular weight, composition and glass transition temperature (Tg) of the copolymers were determined by gel permeation chromatography, elemental analysis and DSC respectively.
