On Cultivation of English Major Students Qualified for the New Century Globalization

Abstract

With a process of globalization in Knowledge, information and economy, our domestic economic development has taken on an entirely new look, which calls for a large number of qualified professionals who not only master a foreign language but also acquire the knowledge in one of the related subjects in the economic field. On the basis of the new situation, the present paper aims at training students of English majors to be qualified for this new era. Through analyses and investigations by this author, the paper is to provide measured means and suggestions on the training of students with comprehensive abilities, so that the students can integrate themselves into the mainstream of globalization in the new era.
