Library Using Bibliometrics to Drive the Development of Subjects

Abstract

It is becoming a new trend for the library to provide the decision-making basis for the development of the university discipline by using bibliometrics, this paper clarifies the significance and importance of promoting bibliometric services by the bibliometrics best practice of the Huazhong University of Science & Technology Library in the subject situation analysis of the ESI, the ESI contribution analysis report of the department and the academic influence analysis of the department (laboratory),etc. And it is pointed that it is a way to improve the bibliometric services by strengthening construction of the library collection resources, cultivating the librarian cooperation consciousness and enhances the librarian’s service ability.
