The Analysis of Literary Signs in Terms of Dualism of Roman Jacobson and Roland Barthes—The Analysis of Dyads and Triads of Semiotics
Abstract
The object of this thesis is literary signs. With this purpose, this thesis tries to analyze the dualism of two outstanding representatives of structuralism: Roman Jacobson and Roland Barthes, including Jacobson’s alienation, zero-signified and six functions of language, and Barthes’s ERC system. Dualism provides a significant methodology for scholars to study signs of literary speech.
