Analysis of the Chemistry, Pharmacology and Application Characteristics of Fenugreek

Abstract

Fenugreek is the seed of leguminous. Steroidal saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids, coumarins and other chemical constituents have been isolated from it. It has hypoglycemic, anti lipid, anti-tumor, anti ulcer and other biological activities. In this paper, the chemical constituents, pharmacological action and application of fenugreek were summarized, so as to lay a theoretical foundation for the efficient development and utilization of fenugreek plant resources.
