Study on the Quality of Life of the Rural Elderly
Abstract
The aim of the research was to investigate the quality of life of the rural elderly in China. Two representative villages in the eastern and western regions were selected and the WHO QOL-BREF was used The results showed that: male elderly scored higher than female in the environmental domain; the quality of life of the rural elderly in economically developed areas was higher than that of the rural elderly in economically underdeveloped areas; elderly people with their spouses still alive scored higher than those widowed or never married or divorced in social relationship domain and the quality of life of the left behind elderly was lower than that of the non-left behind.
