A Practice of Introducing the Concept of Public Participation in Urban Planning Teaching
Abstract
Public participation is an important part of urban planning. In order to make students deeper understand public participation in urban planning and improve the teaching quality, we introduced public participation into the teaching practice of urban planning, put forward a teaching method of student engagement, and have been practicing for 6 years in different majors and grades. The results of practice showed that teaching effect of this method was influenced by which term the course was set in, students' basic ability level and self-awareness of learning, the theme of the homework and the teachers' incentive measures.
